To align with ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ's commitment to global education, Carla Barqueiro, the new director of the college's Sarah T. Hughes Center for Politics, is taking the center in a new direction focused on global politics and world affairs.

Elaine Meyer-Lee, ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ's provost and senior vice president of academic affairs, has received a Fulbright Specialist Program award to France at the CEPA Foundation.

Three ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ faculty members, Edgar Kunz; Verónica Segarra, Ph.D.; and Daniel Swann, Ph.D.; have received tenure. Kunz and Swann have also been promoted to the rank of associate professor and Segarra has been reappointed as associate professor.

Robert Slocum, Emeritus Faculty in Biological Sciences, recently published a research paper in Frontiers related to his long-standing research interest in plant metabolism. The paper is entitled, "Modified pea apyrase has altered nuclear functions and enhances the growth of yeast and Arabidopsisa."
