ACCESS to PUIs

(Accomplishing Career Choice Exploration for Scholar Scientists—Primarily Undergraduate Institutions)

ACCESS to PUIs is a joint program in Baltimore, MD, sponsored by ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñand Stevenson University. ACCESS to PUIs was inspired by the Program (CTFP) run by Johns Hopkins University, which provides teaching opportunities to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at both Hopkins and University of Maryland. The CTFP program gives teaching fellows hands-on teaching experience at local small colleges and universities with faculty mentors for a semester in order for them to be exposed to practices of pedagogy.

Our ACCESS to PUIs program uses the fellowship model, along with a more intensive mentoring and information session schedule. There are three main components of the program: faculty mentorship, teaching observation and feedback, and panel discussions. Each component is designed to support the teaching fellow as well as to provide context and relevance to teaching at a primary undergraduate institution.
