Brian Patrick is Associate Professor of Psychology at ̫ӳin Baltimore, Maryland. He received his doctorate, with a specialization in social psychology and human motivation, from the University of Rochester. Since his arrival at ̫ӳin 1995, his teaching and scholarly efforts have tended to revolve around the study of the dynamic interplay of autonomy and relatedness concerns as it manifests in a variety of domains - most notably education and close relationships.
